Bend Police on Sunday arrested a man on suspicion of being a prolific graffiti tagger who allegedly left his mark on more than 50 surfaces across the city.
Kalden James Gilbert, 22, was arrested on the southern end of Britta Street in the Boyd Acres neighborhood after police found an extensive collection of spray paint in his apartment and car, according to a news release. Gilbert was arrested on suspicion of 50 counts of second-degree criminal mischief and two counts of first-degree criminal mischief.
Gilbert was taken to Deschutes County jail. Police said additional charges may be coming.
An investigation linked Gilbert to the graffiti tag 鈥淴UKA.鈥 Police first received complaints about the tag in February and identified dozens of tags throughout the city in the next five months, including on businesses, street signs and Bend City Hall.
Earlier this month police gathered evidence from the scene of an XUKA tag that helped identify Gilbert as a suspect.
Bend Police are still taking new reports and information on the XUKA tags.

Give him a toothbrush and a bucket of soapy water to remove his vandalism - and any thoughts he may have of being such a nuisance again,!
